Enjoying the great outdoors.....

We spent a day this last weekend out at our property near Salem, MO. We have 30 acres we call the "4-Stone ranch" that we use for camping, fishing, etc. Here are some photos from a fun day.

James caught his first fish ever at the small pond on our property. A very pretty bluegill.

Paul caught a catfish. I put those catfish in the pond this spring and they were about six inches long. They have already grown to about 12 inches.

Sherri also caught a catfish. I was skunked for the day but feel I should get some credit since I had to remove the fish from all the hooks.

We took a short drive to the current river near Akers and rode the only working ferry boat in Missouri. This is a small river so the ferry boat is more traditional than functional but they do ferry about 25 vehicles across the river a day.

A couple pictures around the Welch spring area. We were looking for crawdads and wading in the shallow water. We didnt bring our swimsuits so we had to roll up our shorts. We also didnt bring the lifejackets so deeper water was not an option.

Welch Spring - 100 million gallons of water a day come out of this spring.
